HOPE & Co.

Seeking a design partner who could help update the Grade II Listed property, while celebrating Burhill's history and remaining respectful of its traditions, the client approached Hope & Co. to deliver the interior design schemes.

The brief, to refurbish the main Honours bar, function suites, including the architecturally outstanding 100-seat Iveagh Lounge, main reception area, male changing rooms, and lobbies and corridors throughout the building's ground floor, was an exciting undertaking. It also specified that where possible, the original loose furniture - over 150 pieces - needed to be renovated and reincorporated into the design schemes.

 

With a range of architectural styles, both traditional and contemporary, diverse business functions, and the need to engage with a new generation of member, including being more female-friendly, meant that from the outset, the need to define a coherent interiors brand would be critical before any designing could take place.

 

Working collaboratively with the client, along with a fantastic project team, Hope & Co. has been able to deliver designs that pay respect to the history of the club, appeal to today’s member whilst also preparing for continued success in the years to come.

Following delivery of the project, Hope & Co. are delighted that Burhill Golf Club has been highly commended by its peers at the annual industry Prestigious Star Awards as the most Prestigious Sporting Venue, as well as being nominated for Best Summer Event Venue 2020.
